CONFIRMATION CLASS 2022
WHAT IS CONFIRMATION?
Confirmation is a time for our youth to decide to follow Christ and to understand the direction He has for his/her life. Confirmation is also a time for our students to affirm the faith into which they were baptized, renew the baptismal vows taken for them by their parents or guardians, and for those who were not baptized as infants or small children an opportunity to be baptized.
And finally, Confirmation affirms a new commitment between a young person and Christ and also confirms their commitment to the United Methodist Church by becoming members of Valdosta First United Methodist Church.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN CONFIRMATION?
Confirmation is for all 6th grade students and any 7th & 8th grade students who have not participated in Confirmation Class before.
*Parents are to attend the classes with their Confirmand(s).

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- *All classes, Confirmation Retreat & Confirmation Sunday are strongly encouraged to not miss!
- Although Confirmation Class 2022 runs for 13 weeks, families will have 4 weeks off.
- Weeks listed A/B families will get to choose which week works best for them to attend and take the other off.
- March 6th & April 3 we will NOT meet.
- Parent(s) or a Guardian(s)/Grandparent(s)/family friend attend all classes with their Confirmand.

- Confirmation Retreat is $100.
- It includes includes all transportation, cabin lodging, meals, programming, insurance and a t-shirt for the weekend.
- Confirmand Families will get to choose if they would like to be confirmed at the 9:00AM service in The Loft or at 11:00AM in The Sanctuary. All families are asked to attend the celebration breakfast in-between services.
- Confirmation Celebration Breakfast is on Confirmation Sunday, April 17 (Easter Sunday) at 9:45AM so we can celebrate as a class with our family and friends!
- Extended family and friends are welcome to join the celebration, please just let us know when we send out the RSVP. A donation of $5 a person is requested if possible.
